Really cool image resizing program

Someone sent this around work, pretty cool. It's a talk from SIGGRAPH, about a new program that can resize images, but attempts to preserve as much of the original details as possible.

So, you can squash and stretch images, and it'll try to resize the image by removing pixels where there's not much going on, rather than cropping, or actually squashing or stretching the image, as current techniques do..

There's a really cool bit at the end, where they use the technology to remove a person from a beach scene, by artificially setting the pixels that the person takes up to be low detail.

Will be really cool if this algorithm makes it to programs like photoshop.

I remember seeing that last year and thinking it was pretty amazing.
