CrossOver on the Mac
Anyone running an Intel Mac (or Linux for that matter) should spend a few quid on getting CrossOver. I've been using it for about a year and have just installed the Windows version of Photoshop 7 on my MacBook....it runs faster than on any of the PCs in the house, and is seemlessly integrated into the Mac OS without having to have Windows installed.
![]() Apparently games like Half-life (and attendant Mods) will run on Mac and Linux under CrossOver as well. |

One of the guys at work is using Crossover and he's using it now as a replacement to Bootcamp.

It's cheaper than Parallels, and doesn't need a reboot like Bootcamp.
I've got VirtualBox installed on here but haven't tried it out as I don't have much need for a second OS, might try my Ubuntu Livedisc on it, see if it runs... |

I've used crossover a couple of times. Managed to get Steam working so I could reinstall Half Life and the Movies but didn't think they would work. Actually tried to install Ableton through Crossover but with no luck.

If you've got the licence number for Ableton the Mac version should work fine - just download the right file from the Ableton site and install as usual.
