PSU Question

how can you tell if your PSU isnt strong enough to power your PC?

I'd be curious to know that myself. I've been struggling with PC issues when playing games and perhaps my generic brand 700W isn't sufficient :-/

says i need 293watts for my system but would probably stick at least 20% on top of that to be sure.

I'm not an expert on PSUs, but I'm pretty sure that it's not just overall power (Watts) that you need, Your PSU needs to be able to provide the right amount of current (Amps) on the different voltage lines or something like that.

So where a Corsair 620W PSU will be rock solid because it provides plenty of current, a cheapo 1000W PSU might be causing crashes because it just can't give enough.
