Quake 2

is anyone here actively playing this game? i'm just installing it again since its been so long since i last played it. Upgrading to version 3.20 and i'm downloading the Eraser bot also, to play multiplayer against computer control bots, just so i can get some practice in before i go online.

Anyone else here play it online?

it was free, but that was kinda long ago
i think i either downloaded it or got it off an old pc gamer cd

i'll check it out then. I cant believe that you can actually download Quake 2 officially for free now, as well as the source code.

the version i have bought doesnt seem to want to install on my operating system for some reason, says it needs a localised version because it doesnt work with the language setting on my XP. that sucks. Guess i'll have to figure that out.

glad i kept windows 98 on my own computer
xp is on this one and its not compatible with anything!

this most definately sucks. Guess i'l install Quake 3, but i prefer the gameplay on Quake 2. *goes in a huff*

I have Half Life, its been a while since i played that too. Never played it online though.

i had half-life on my really old computer
but i borrowed it off a friend
i need to get it again, i've been dying to play it for weeks

and i much prefer quake 2 aswell, although quake 3 was rather nifty

you cant beat a good death mag / frag fest though. I remember at Uni we used to do all nighters in the run up to the exams and we'd have breaks and have Quake 3 death matches over the networks. Totally ace like. I was decent, usually finished around mid table, but the campers really pissed me off. A bit like in Goldeneye where some arse always had to be oddjob, and if you went for a piss, someone would select you are Jaws.

Half-life Deathmatch classic is the best for Quake2 stylee fragging I reckon. It's pretty much the only game I play online.

Hey KJ, how about setting up a UGS games server? Or organising some sort of LAN event! Well, chances are I'd be the only one to turn up. It could be fun though!
