yeah. Baz, what was the name of that Gung-Fu game on the Amiga you had? IK+ or something? the totally hyper one you had on a cover disc. hehe.
NES was a classic, as was Duckhunt on it. But i had an Amstrad and that rocked. Had How to be a Complete Bastard and Tubaruba. I had a batman game and a few other stupid games. They came on these big fat discs that looked like burnt toast.

paperboy was brilliant on the SNES, getting nailed by dogs was scary at the time, in my youthful age.
But i think the gameplay of the old games is still an example of what todays games should be like. No contest. Especially the mario games, sheer playabilty and no frills graphics and all that rubbish.

Still cant believe we get lectures about huge teams producing games when 1 guy in his bedroom in teh 80s could churn out a game thats better than what 20people spend 2 years cretaing today. Oh forgot that Spectrum gem - Pub Crawl. Nowt better than a text adventure where you go on a pub crawl in Dundee circa 1985 pubs |

I'm sure there is a place that sells old systems. Grossi just got an old game for his master system sent over from Japan. He's well into all his manga and stuff.
I think quite possibly the most addictive game of all time was Pacman on the Amstrad, IMO. it had 6 colours and a million different levels, plus it was addictive as hell. My Amstrad monitor was cool too. It had this thing that you slapped onto the bottom of it and it had 2 knobs. One for tuning into television chanells and the other was for the volume. Legendary. i gave the whole lot away to this kid i knew and now he has it. I had Sensi for the 486. The one that had Ruud Guillit on the box wearing the Dutch strip. Brilliant. I think SWOS was the best game of the day. Baz, Cunny, remember the SWOS sessions we had at Adam's place at playtimes? lol.

It has to be handed to the guy from DMA. He's started a new company called Virtual Worlds which focuses on interent gaming, and i think their intention is to go old skool and bring back the addictive playability of those old games. Lemmings was brilliant and earning him millions, even though the graphics were base standard, the game play was so addictive, ask anyone if they played Lemmings and they will say, hell Yeah. It would be a perfect game to bring on out on the Game Boy Advance. Also, has anyone played ZX Ball? its like a bat and ball game where you have to ping the ball and distroy all the different coloured bricks to progress to the next level. the game could fit on a floppy and yet had around 70 different levels , plus sound effects.

I still got my old Speccy 48k with rubber keys and the kempsone joystick where you had to plug the wires into the card that stuck out the back. Utter joy. Target Renegade was the best game for it. And I used tohave the Atari thingy that looked more like a cigar box than a console.
ah what days they were when Maiden ruled the world with spandex and poodle hair and massive solos. |

aww man, that brings back alot of memories dude. It used to be possible to modify the code on the games depending on the discs they came on. hehe.
I had an Amstrad CPC 6128 and it was the shit. Big ass brick keyboard and this huge grey monitor with green tinted screen. It used to make horrible bleeping noises whenever you made a mistake. I remember the very first day it came through in the post. Huge box and when we got it out it was the best thing in the world. Thanks dad I think it came with a radio tuner also, but we went through about 3 tape decks. Rememebr the magazines you could get? Each week they had a cover TAPE. hehe. the good ol' days.
