watch out for a dodgy member of barstaff

last Saturday at Cage I got a double vodka and coke and sat down to drink when I realised there was no vodka in it at all. When I wnet up to complain the barman responsible saw me and scuttled off to leave me to speak to another member of staff.

He confirmed by tasting that there was NO vodka in it and poured me another. While he was pouring this drink someone said:
"did you get no alcohol in that?"
me"aye from the guy with the wee spike at front of his hair"
"ah "he replied "he did the same to me last week.

Just to let you know that if youre getting served by the young guy with spiky bit at front of hair to keep an eye on him when hes pouring your drink.

Unless of course it was an honest mistake

I always drink pints anyway. You can't really fuck that up, unless you give it a big head, and that's obvious.

On the night the clocks went forward and it was open till (in effect) 4.30am, the draught lager (all types) 'ran out' at like 1am or something! Sounded a bit unlikely to me.... so we had to go on more expensive bottles... hmmm...

To be fair, there was some really crap bottled beer going for a quid a bottle but it was totally rancid

All said and done though, the bar prices are pretty goddam fair compared to some rip-off mainstream clubs, and if the barman was pulling a stunt with the vodka and IF YOU HAD been too drunk to notice, he would probably be doing you a favour, if not a public service

Aye, but on the other hand, if you've asked for and paid for a double vodka and coke or whatever, then that is what you should get. If the bar staff feel you're overly drunk they should refuse to serve you anymore alcohol, not pretend to keep doing so and ripping you off.

But hey.

It would be really stupid but I do believe it was an honest mistake, I know all the barstaff now, none of them are like that!!!

Yeah, totally agree with you, they SHOULD refuse to serve you. I must stress though that I'm not saying that did happen, or does happen anyplace. I'll repeat again what I said in my post that the cage has the fairest bar prices (and entry price) of any nightclub I've ever been in.

jeez, if he's done it twice already, he should really be more careful and pay more attention, and when the person he's served comes up to complain, not fucking run away.

I've done barwork before and yeah, have mucked up a few times but I've never ran away to let someone else deal with it at least.
