Erm did I say I was ? No.
Did I even say I have used "higher maths" ?
Perhaps I have, perhaps I haven't.
My point was you are far too young to say you'll never use anything you learnt in higher maths.

you were being patronising.

and i don't intend on doing anything that involves simplifying equasions harder than x+1=y-2 type things. which was standard grade. or anything with triangles any harder than pythagoras.

Patronising ? Erm no I wasn't.
The same statement could easily have been made by a 12 year old who realised that they do not necessarily know what they will be doing or need to know in the future. The fact I am few years older than you is irrelevant.
You may not intend on doing anythign which involves it right now.
What about in 3 years, or 5 years, or 10 years ?
You never know what's round the corner.

I did Death of A Salesman, Burns poetry - I think I did Holy Willies' Prayer + my Specialist Study RPR thing was on Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. I hated higher English cos my teacher was rubbish, I preferred Advanced Higher English.4

With the maths thing, I didn't even do Higher Maths, all I've got is a 2 at standard grade! I don't really see me ever doing anything that needs all the forumla guff to be honest but you never know. I'm more of an arts than science person I guess.

You never know though.
I mean if you only ever learned the things you needed to know, you wouldn't know very much.

I agree that you need higher english.

I wish I'd taken higher maths when I was at high school, but there's no way I could have passed it back then. I'm very very tempted to go to college and get my maths up to scratch. I'd like to learn calculus.

At the moment I know what calculus is, what it's useful for, what I need it for, I just don't know how to do it! It's useful for those geeks among us that want to be games programmers.

I could be pedantic and say it's irrelevant if she has to learn it again or not. My statement is whether things learned in higher maths will be used(or not).
How many times they must be learned would not matter.
Some people learn something once and it sticks. Others forget it quickly.
Everyone is different.
Besides things are alot easier when "re-learned".

Anyway, good luck with your higher maths exam lindsay.

Just kidding.

got my advanced higher english exam on friday, i'm well buggered. think i'm doing morgan poetry with austen, emma and/or persuasion, as a backup if i really need it. we read king lear and hamlet too, but havent really done much work on them. i should get studying, need to pass to get into strathy.
me and my mate didnt pay much attention in higher english, the teacher made us fall asleep, so we only scraped through with a C and begged our way into advanced higher so we could get a different teacher.
