I still find it highly amusing that most of the Americans I know do not consider themselves to have an accent. They would never say "Oh, you have a Scottish accent", they would merely say "you have an accent" as if the American phonetic system is the default for the human race.

Just sayin'

I hate the "Huh huh huh...Americans are stooopid" attitude you get in this country.
Americans are no more stupid as a people than anyone else, least of all the UK.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. There's a whole lot of generalisation goes down. But as with every country on Earth, it has it's fair share of ignorant rascals.

Yeah, that pisses me off too. "AMERICAN ARE FAT AND OR STUPID" is a stupid fucking cliché, and it's already been said billions of times, by billions of other morons. It's not intelligent, insightful, or funny.

Generally, I find it irritating when people feel the need to repeat clichés that have been done to death.

I don't think this thread has anything to do with calling American's stupid though. But I do think that the clichés have been perpetuated by the media and also by stupid decisions like this. I don't think anyone really believes that Americans are stupid, but if they do, well, they're just stupid.
