We Need To Talk About Kevin

For my shame I haven't read the book but I have just finished listening to the Radio 4 adaptation (has been running for the last two weeks).

The ending was so shocking and unexpected (even in light of what had already happened in the story) that I was reduced to tears.

Seriously gasp-out-loud stuff.

I read this at the begining of last year.

All the "Catcher In The Rye for the post-columbine generation" hype caught my interest. i was pleased to find it a highly original and absorbing story.

plus my names in the title.

good stuff!

yeah? I was discouraged by it being piled up with the rest of the bestseller shit my mum churns through. Might give it a rethink though.

I also haven't read the book, but did listen to the serialisation on Radio 4.

I thought it was brilliant. The woman's voice did my nut in though.

I don't know that all of it will be. It was on over two weeks so the earlier episodes will have fallen off the listen again thing.

TapeOnALoop is an unknown quantity at this point
Read it a while back courtesy of a review from RuthlessReviews.com and was not disappointed. Yes, the ending is shocking though a little excessive I thought. Reminded me of the end of the Beach novel, which I hope isn't a spoiler for anyone but yes, a superb novel.
