UK image worsening?

In light of recent events, do you think the image of the UK is becoming more and more negative in the eyes of the world? Has the UK sacrificed popularity in favour or doing what it thinks is the right thing? Do people in the UK have a negative image of their own country? I'd like to discuss this.

britain's a fucking hole and it has been for decades. we've been hanging onto our position as a superpower simply for the fact we used to have the biggest empire in the world, and I think everyone else is starting to realise it. We, as a nation, are just a blustering old fool, hanging onto past achievements (I fought in the war, you young whippersnapper) and refusing to accept that the world around us has changed

I think the UK's image is a bit of a joke, especially in Europe.

Our country's pish. It's full of Boy Racers and gangs who go around chibbing each other.
And the people who aren't either of those are on the street corner getting drunk, untill they get old enough to get into pubs, then they're in there getting drunk.

I reckon we should be more like Japan. That's a generally nice country full of mostly nice people.

i agree here (!) the UK has a shite Image everywhere, it's becoming a mini USA, exept without the stores to get cool shirts from and shipping from the actual USA still costs a bomb! But seriously, we've been a US puppet, or rather our govt. has, since the motherfucking cold war! We don't ever challenge the Americans even when our whole fucking nation (almost) thinks they (and by that I mean Bush) are/is full of shit! In short; we look like little shites because our government behaves like we are little shites!
