I'm sure as hell getting my butt down there - I found an advert for the last frock-on in the guitar shop next to the cafe mono a day after it was all over. (and a very nicely done artistic advert it was too)
Not making that mistake this time! |

in search for equality in the scene havnt u just made a new group that discriminates people for stupid reasons such as gender
i diff agree with more girls in the local scene but isnt having ur organisation a bit far and hypocrytical? i mean the obvious thing to do would be to organise events for everyone with the intention of having bands with girls in them, or bands/events that appeal rather then souly making it about equal or above equal rights for women? [i apolgise for spelling/grammer mistakes and also the fact that it doesnt make sense] ill be quiet now kthxbi |

hey fockin,
Thanks for your thoughts...I have actually been writing a minizine to try and answer such faqs. Here's a very rough draft. Despite its under-construction status it hopefully still manages to explain some of the reasons why Frock On exists and what its for. http://www.frockon.org/draft.html it'd be cool to see you at the gig Dec 6th, marie x |

i wasnt to be obtuse or ask stupid questions to get a rise i was geniually curious
anyway yes - ive read ur draft and it is a fair point, i understand that the workshops etc help with the female community and that some of the activities are meant obviously just for women but (even tho i cant argue with facts) i dont believe that female rights are so unbalanced in this day and age - i personally know noone of the opposite sex who i regard as lower then me (on a personal/social or work related front) i also believe that even tho u are right about the lack of females actually performing in bands that does not mean that ther isnt a high level of scene input from females - take for example the gig last nite at the beat bar - half the crowd (at least) were female basically all im saying is i agree with ur idea in concept but im a bit confused with certain issues thanks for ur time |

Society's still fucked. The only job females get paid more than males in is modeling (excluding the sex industry). Can't be bothered ranting too much, but I think this fact says a lot.
