i think alot off ppl saw the pic of my ass after the operation i got back in august. had a cist at the top of my ass crack, (you couldn't actually see it if you looked at it before the op). 4 weeks off work paid!!
at 16 i had 3 of my canine teeth pulled cos they hadn't come out naturally. one has grown in squint because a part shattered off and stayed inside my gum. so thats not too bad. |

I had to have teeth taken out when I was wee, think I was 7, it was awful, there was just one dentist and his assistant who put the mask over my face and told me to take deep breaths, except I took one wee breath, didn't like it and ripped it off my face and started thrashing about to get away, in the end there were 5 guys each holding onto one of my limbs and another trying to hold the mask over my face and my dad in the background shouting at me to calm down.
eventually after holding my breath for what seemed like ages, I took a huge one and blacked out immediately when I woke up, I was sitting in the room on a chair and the dentist was working on someone else and he looked at me and shook his head ![]() |

tonsils out when i was four, they had about four nurses trying to get me into the room (i threw major temper tantrums...)
i had many an operation to take teeth out from when i was about 7 til present, had 19 out in total. i suffer from a really rare condition that means my teeth dont fall out and my teeth dont grow in. (im in medical books to prove it!) then in june i had a big operation to remove my gums (due to the big ones not growing in after having most out ten years before). it wasnt pretty, blood everywhere for weeks. and i got a gold chain thing (woo, bling bling) put in to pull a tooth up. had lots of stitches (to sew some gums together since i got them removed and since then cut half my mouth away to cement then chain to my tooth) and now im left with a pretty brace to straighten them up, no fun! my 3 year old brother has more teeth than me (15 properly grown in in total!) |

As a result I had all 4 teeth removed in hospital, but was discharged the same day, was kinda shit because I was sick blood when I got home due to my swallowing of it during the op. I have also had my tonsils out and an operation on my upper leg. |

ive never really had impressive operations... ive had a fair few teeth out, but theyve all grown in now, and for about 5 years i hurt myself really badly every birthday, which involved things like teeth going into lips, etc.
my best one was when i was really wee, i was on my mums sholders and she started running down a hill, and i went flying off her sholders and face down onto the ground, but i only got some stiches and stuff. my mum hurt her knees though. |

when i was eight, somebody pushed me over when i was playing rugby, cos i had the ball and they wanted it, and i twisted my knee, and it got really really big, and then i went to the doctors and in 2 years i got 2 blood tests and and MRI and then they decided i would have operation where they would put cameras in my knee cos they decided i have fluid in there, and then after they did that, they decided i just needed to take some medicine! therefore i am now afraid of hospitals, doctors, nurses and injections

one of my canines was growing in behind my origional small one, but because the roof of your mouth is really tough, it wouldnt come through.
so i had to get the small tooth out, then go to the dental hospital for an operation to cut the offending tooth out, so that it could grow down. it started with 6 injections into my gums, which were bad enough. then the dentist woman decided to test if the jags had worked yet by slicing the front of my gums with a scalpel, of course the injections hadnt been enough and i felt the whole thing. so she gave me another injection through the roof of my mouth, i could feel all the fluid going in just under my nose. then came about 30 mins of cutting and scraping inside my mouth, which resulted in me having two stitches inside my mouth and loads of foul tasting and smelling packing around my tooth. i was in pain for two weeks and all my food tasted like crap. fun times. but it was all for a good cause as i was at the dentist today and he said that i had perfect teeth! also the needle for the BCG snapped in my arm, it was sore tho, just funny because about 4 people came in and out of the room while my nurse tried to remove the needle then give me another jag. |

I had to have an operation on my neck, which i was awake for due to the fact that i had a really bad chest infection, so the surgeon was scared i would suffocate during the operation. they did sedate me though, only remember being wheeled into the operating theatre and then coming round in the recovery room.
I also had a bone marrow test thingy, wasn't pleasant, i was also awake for that. they tried to sedate me, i remember telling them i wasn't sedated enough because i remember everything very clearly, including the pain when the thick needle thingy went into my hip bone. I think the whole hospital heard me shouting when that happened. I had to have an operation to have a massive tube inserted into my chest, which was in there for over 6 months, and was wide awake when they cut my chest again to loosen the cuff so they could pull it out, they also threatened to cut my neck again cos my vein had healed round it (cos when the put it in they had to go into both my chest and my neck to get it in) but i said no and they had to pull really hard, which hurt a lot. I had 2 teeth taken out the day before my 18th and was only given anasthetic (like the stuff u get when u have a filling) for that and i was in agony for about a week, i had a miserable 18th thanx to it! I also had to have a line inserted into a vein in my thigh, believe me when i say that was no fun. It hurt like hell when the doctor put it in cos they used a huge thick needle to get it in, and everything was on show......ARGH! |

Gas was great though, the room just kind of faded into darkness and it seemed like no time had passed when you woke up (apart from you had to spit up lots of blood and your teeth had disappeared!) Apparently whilst unconcious, I spent the whole time trying to kick the dentist and had to be pinned down. I still remember the smell of the gas as well, I can't describe it, but it was a nice smell ![]() I also had to be knocked out to rearrange the bones in my arm after I broke it in a few places when I was 6. Apparently one doctor pulled down on my elbow whilst a nurse pulled my hand upwards and another doctor just rammed the bones back into place |

I had an opperation to remove a cyst in my neck over two years ago now. I remember about passing out when they stuck a massive needle in my neck to draw out fluid to make tests on before they knew what was wrong with me.
I now consequently have a scar on my neck and the amount of strangers that have come up to me and have actually asked me if I have tried to kill myself, is unbelieveable. I knew I would get some comments due to the scar but I really didn't bargin on how many, I didn't realise just how blunt and tactless some people can be!! |

my right eye is, or was squint, until I had an operation to correct it. they knocked me out, held by eye in the right place so it wasn't squint any more, and then stitched/stapled it into place. if anyones wants to, I can move my eye to the side and show you the edge of one of the stitches.
