what happens if a 15 year old girl is raped and gets pregnant? how could she ever love that child, what kind of life would that be? for her as well as the kid, it would affect many people and her only other option is to be a criminal. That's stupid, i also think that in cases where contraception fails people should have every right to choose.

we hads a debate on this in class last week.............................the right of abortion was denied, on the fact that after some weeks the babies spinal cord had developed enough so it can feel pain and would in fact know it was dying!!and would feel itself being ripped from the womb! maybe not a point I agree with but definatly one to think about!!!

its a good point, but it asumes the foetus and thats what it is, not a baby would see itself as a person but people only learn to view them selves as a person by example later in life, it may feel pain but i doubt it would know it was dying or have any concept of what was happening since its brain wouldn't have developed that far.

i personally believe that abortion should always be a choice and no-one especially a asshole like bush should decide what a women can do to there bodies, i doubt that anyone who has had an abortion would think that it was the easiest choice the had made and most of them will remember that day for the rest of there lives and what they have done,

IMHO abortion is a woman's choice. Therefore why should a man be allowed to deny that right?

I'm not venturing into any arguments about abortion as an act, i've had too many of them in the past! However, i doubt the vast majority of women who have had abortions took it lightly and haven't suffered enough emotionally without some silly pricks judging them.

On a slightly different note.

Last week a school up the road from me had a wee article in the newspaper about a bunch of 1st and 2nd years releasing 1000 balloons to mark the amount of abortions carried out in the area. I can't actually believe the school allowed this and for the fact that it was kids of 12/13/14 years of age. These kids don't know what could happen to them in a few years.

Like someone said, what if they were to be raped? Would you really want that child?

I think it is always a woman's right to choose but there are so many aspects of this arguement......like in Japan women are denied access to the contraceptive pill because abortions are such big bucks over there....it's like the fuckin' abortion clinics would rather a woman have a child ripped from her womb than not get pregnant in the first place!!!!! Also some abortion procedures include "puncturing" the babies skull to induce death......a mean that's fucked up in itself...........
