car folks. heat on car roof = dents?

if heat was applied to areas of the roof of a car in a cold temperature but with hot air coming out the hair drier, will it cause dents in the roof either immediately or after application.

I used to weld cars to MOT standard for a living so here's my tuppence worth...
Unless the heat was coming from something like an oxy acetylene torch (thousands of degrees temp) I very much doubt it.
Moderate heat from a hairdryer may make the metal SLIGHTLY more plyable than normal but I reckon it would still need a pretty hard knock to cause a dent.

the dents are really slight. not obvious, but clearly visable when looking down the bonnet. They put a roof decal on you see using a hair dryer to speed up the process, so i'm thinking they leaned on the car and put the slight dents in. its £350 worth of damage so i'll be pursuing the costs as far as possible.

Thanks for the info.
