Hamlet and king lear are both immense.
Did so much Renaissance Drama last year, it was pretty cool. Volpone by Ben Jonson is really good. What are you gonna do after school with yer nice shiny advanced higher? Its kind of gutting when you get to uni and realise the way its taught is 30 or 40 years out of date.....Still a pretty good course though. are you doing any James Joyce? That was my favourite part of AH, He's a madman. |

I'm not a big reader, but I adore Shakespear.
I'm reading Taming Of The Shrew right now, it's damn cool. Played Lady Macbeth at theatre school, which was fantastic. Also adore Romeo +Juliette, +Midsummernight's Dream. Wasn't that into Merchant of Venice to be honest. Really need to get round to readin more of the plays. |

Starla, check out the tragidies, Hamlet, Othello, King Lear. Personally i think they are a lot more interesting than the comedies Alice, the teacher who taught me Joyce sucked, it was only good cause the texts are fucking unbelievable. I know there's at least one other english lit undergrad posts on here, wonder why they haven't posted yet. |
