misi disk recording??
So i was wondering is it possible to record a minidisk using just a crappy pc and a portable miidisk player. I'm gettin one for my Christmas but i dont have a stereo that can play/record minidisks. I know there's a way to plug 'em into the back of your stereo, but i bought mine with my paper-round christmas tip money about 5 years ago so i dont think i'll be able to do that. any suggestions? err yeah an cheers in advance.

yea u can get lead things in dixons. u can plug one end into the headfone socket(or mic i cant remember) of your pc and the other into the recording bit on your minidisk player. hit play on pc and record on minidisk. wont be very good quality but it'll work.

I don't know how cheap a soundblaster live! with digital outputs would be nowadays, but that's what I use. I got a CO2 box from sound control to convert the coaxial SPDIF digital output on the PC to an optical one and plugged it in to the minidisc.

nah, the first way is the simplest and it isn't bad quality, use a small lead with a 3.5mm jack on each end, plug one into a headphone socket on anything and put the other into the record plug on the MD player and hit record to record whatever's coming out the headphone socket.
I also have used the Optical output on the back of my PS2 into the optical in on the MD Player (by the way, this is the same as the analog one on most and the plug can be used for either) that way it marks track breaks for you. Now i use the USB connection which is very simple but lots of people don't bother buying Net MD players. that way it records all the track names aswell. |

i just don't know you. don't always assume that me on msn is actually me by the way.
anyway, the topic, the topic... The headphone to input is by far the simplest and cheapest, just depends on what hardware you have what you can do. |
