Hmmmmm!?!

Do forum personalities exsist?

When we are posting on the site are we infact putting on an act? Are we the people we appear to be or are we infact using the mask of an assumed name to say the ridiculous or insult others?

Well....waddya think?

I act slightly different on the internet. This is because, although Im quite intellegent, I'm not the wittiest guy in the world. The internet gives you a chance to process what you say before you write it, whereas you cant do this when you are face to face with someone. Some people however very definitely have an 'internet personality'....

A lot of people do. The cry of "it's only the internet" is an oft-heard one, especially on UGS.

I however, am exactly the same in real life as you see on this forum. Well, maybe I dance a bit more in real life...

So....do you think that certain individuals use the smoke-screen to openly display dillusions of grandeur or to conduct mini terrorist campaigns on others?

I use the net a lot being a computer student n all, but I always use the same name on every forum I am on, that way Im not hiding behind some alias. I cnat be bothered with all that persona, character crap, I post cos of what *I* want to say not because of what I want to say but have to use another name to do so. So if you see someone on another forum called "Alan G", "Alan_G" or "AlanG" its probably me :d

Having said that, Magumba is *the* "forum personality" hehe

I know a few people on this so it'd be sad as hell for me to act any different.

I suppose one thing is I'm far more likely to join in a discussion with strangers but hey that's what the internet is good for.

Hmm. That's a very good question.

Personally, I think I'm an exagerated version of myself on here. Maybe other people have a different opinion though. Would be interesting to find out.
