the thing i think is great about 60's Batman is the fact he has something for everything. e.g. i saw this one in florida last year...Robin got captured and luckily alfred turned up with a "Robin locator device" or something...also, the film is a goldmine of cheese...these people get turned into powder..all different colours, and the powder gets mixed up with each other BUT Batman luckily has a "Bat-powder separator" or something similar. the film is hilarious...go watch it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have the film on dvd, nothing beats the fake shark attack tho, batman is hanging from the batcopter over the sea when a plastic shark jumps up and attacks him. its just been sellotaped to his leg and its so obvious its plastic when he punches it, luckily he has "shark repellent Bat spray" which defeats the fearsome "shark", and when he flys away in the bat copter his tights arent even ripped!!

Batman's changed over the years to reflect his audiences sensibilities, and the 60s batman is as valid an interpretation as the 50s Sci-Fi Batman, or the 80's "Dark Knight". And the 60's interpretation's still more faithful than the Tim Burton movie. Don't get me started on Batman using machine guns! And Cesar Romero (The Joker) had a lucrative movie career as a Latin lover-type during the time he was doing Batman, hence his never removing his moustache. And I can't say I noticed it too much when I was a nipper watching it on telly religiously. -Wally. |
