Attention all UGS bands!

Ok, i have an idea for some UGS fundraising. The idea is to make a compilation with as many UGS bands as possible but the only difference from normal is that we would give you a song title (quite an open one obviously) and the all the bands would contribute a song with that title. It's a lot different to telling you what write about because you can choose whatever you want to write about but it would be cool to see the different ways that bands interpreted the title. We could sell it in independent stores/on UGS/at gigs that the bands are in therefore raising UGS some £££ and getting your music heard by folk who might not hear it otherwise and therefore making some new fans! Obviously we realise not very band is going into a studio immediately but we could give a period of 2/3 months for bands to record the song and submit it. So what do you think?

1. Is it a good idea?
2. Do you think your band would be willing to contribute a song?

would it matter if it's a crappy home job recording done on a simple digital multitracker?

wish i was in a band now....

soon tho!!

maybe wait till the summer tho - due to the bands needin time and thats always a good time for gigs so plenty of opertunity to hand em out....
