And there will be an SPL next year, although they need to make it a 16 team league. |

Ye Rangers can cope with £67million. although it will take years to pay off. Good to see celtic turned a £3.5 million profit, I believe they're down to 18 or million debts. dundee being 19m in debt is ridiculous though. i mean they'll never get out of that, theyre screwed. I cant believe clubs have got themselvces into this miss. Anyone hear The dunfermline chairman on the radio this afternoon being questioned by jim Trainor? He came across as incredibly immature, stupid and quite clearly didn't have a clue. The chairman of all the non Glasgow SPL teams have a lot to answer for

i recon without the old firm the premier league in scotland would be a lot healthier. Teams would have something to play for and attendances would go up. Year after year the countries main trophies head to Glasgow. its gettin tedious.
Without the old firm i'd say there were about 6 or 7 teams in the league with good chances of winning the league or getting a european spot. You cant tell me that would have a negative effect on Scottish football. Also, Rangers would be perfectly suited to the FA Premiership. After all, they all wave english flash and the union jacks, sing english songs and disrespect the national anthem of Scotland. I hope they get shat on week after week.

Aye but dintcha know its trendy to be a celtic fan and sympathiser these days Rosco? Rangers are the baddies and celtic are the good guys with best fans in the world! My fucking arse!
Depends on what way u look at it if the SPL would be better without the old firm, the competition for cups would be better but thats all, uze wouldnt have the money the old firm generate anymore and the quality of football on show would be on par with leagues in luxemburg and afghanistan |

Aye rangers are howling at the moment, i suppose Dundee want to play a bit of football but anytime ive watched other spl teams play on the t.v they cant even string 3 passes together without giving the ball a big dirty hoof up the park. Aye u get the gers numpties who sing english songs but they are no worse than sellic fans and their IRA bile but its always rangers that seem to get highlighted.

And whenever I'm at Ibrox I wave the same St Andrews cross I wave at Scotland games. It's a big one aswell. *edit* and in reference to the debt... £67 million has been quoted but that doesn't include outgoing transfers from the last 12 months. So the real figure is alot less than that. Plus, Rangers are not in trouble because they have means to service the debt. The club has a high turnover and they are paying off their debt at £3.5 million a year. It's like having a mortgage. We are not playing particularly well at the moment, which is disappointing. But the players we have are only stop-gaps. Capucho wasn't signed to play every week, but he has anyway. He isn't suited to the scottish game. Which doesn't make him a bad player. Mols, Nerlinger, Emerson will all go come the season end, and the club will build on the young players, such as Namouchi, Arteta, Boumsong, Maclean, Hughes, Ross, Burke, Ball. Some fans are too impatient, and cannot see what a tough time McLeish has had. Last edited by gord : 16th February 2004 at 06:14 PM. |
