saw this on BBC site and it looks fantastic

story

an island which is its own country uninhabitable and has a king/national anthem/passport etc.

in an idea blatantly stolen from another forum we need to aquire a tiny bit of land as a soverign nation and have King KJ and his court.

even a tiny rock thats 4foot wide and sticks out the water.

I say we just set up our own government in Iraq since noone is using it just now and rename it Abergatvanistan

On a serious (Eh?) note though, there's tonnes of wee drabs of land allover the place that don't actually exist on paper, like everyone's seen the wee 30ft by 20ft plots of weeds and shite next to shops n' stuff, we should have one of those! I know 30ft by 20ft is hardly a kingdom, that's just silly - what we'd have to do is make that the surface entrance with stairs and really carve out a massive underground complex of catacombs and stuff, we should start immediately!

An abandoned oil platform in international waters is doing fine for other people. Maybe we can sunbathe a lot and put a crows nest on top and pretend to be pirates!

Theres some small islands (probably about a quarter of a mile long/wide) off the coast of NW Scotland that dont officialy belong to anyone.

You can buy islands in the caribbean and south of India for like £200..cause some guy on Who Wants to Be A Millionaire? got 32k and bought 2 islands for £400. i would've bought more myself.

Umm...they're in the sea...you just own the island..but you have to follow the governments of the territories.
