I don't know if Lslass is the virus or some process which the new virus exploits but there was something about it on newsround.

when you get something with a shutdown counter like that, you should try going to start > run then typing shutdown -a

should stop the countdown so you can use your virus scanner etc

apparently. also if you wanna turn off the System shutdown authority for good run->services.msc.

remote procedure call (RPC).

go to "recovery" tab. set all failures to take no action.

then fix the thing. i hate system shutdown authority.

then windows security update and run the removal tool.

y'll probably get lsass.exe crashing a couple more times then y'll be fine.

this is for anyone else who got this and couldn't fix it.

well i got the comp at home sorted thanks to a symantec removal tool. Seems to be ok now. What a pointless worm. Apparently the person that wrote it got ripped apart because the coding was so bad, hence why it kept crashing lsass.exe.
