A rapist who's serving life in prison bought a lottery ticket on a day release and he won 7 million quid!

this is a wierd one, he will need to get the money cause he bought (in fact for what he is ill call him a it) the ticket fairly, but what went through its mind "i know ive got a pound ill buy a ticket and win money i cant spend"
should take the money off him to help the kids/familys of people affected by these fucks!

he'd prolly give his cash to his family or something. i still dont think its right. But in saying that, look how many 'good' people have one. i guess its only a matter of time before a criminal wins.

Apparently his victims will now be able to sue this guy for some of his winnings, now that he has got money

I suppose that is a little bit of good (if you could call it that, nothing can fully give back what he took from his victims) to come out of his lottery win

i dont think he could be sued for it if he's already been criminal prosecuted for the same crime.

lotterys are obviously random, so saying its a bad thing really doesn't make any sense, its not morally good or bad, its a totally random event. if you think the guy doesn't deserve to be rich (which is fair enough) then take comfort in the fact he'll never be able to enjoy his money.

he's got to spend god knows how long in prison, how do you know he's not a totally different person now. Do you think you'll be exactly the same in 25 years time. I think he or his family should get to keep the money.

I don't think the girls he raped should be able to sue him now, just because he's won the lottery and they'll be able to get loads of money from it.

I think he should be allowed to keep the money and do what he wants with it.

I have no sympathy for him and raping people is bad. But he won it fair and square. I'm sure there are people who aren't in jail that don't deserve to win it that do.

It doesn't say anywhere on the ticket that you can't get the dough if you're incarcerated.

I don't think he should be given it however. But i just think from a legal standpoint there's not much they can do.
