It was someone at works birthday night out. So they were at yates, not somewhere I'd normally go anyway, but hey a pub is a pub i guess.
I'd just bought a pint of guinness and turn around to see a bloody great big bouncer right at my back, with his back turned to me. luckily i was on the ball and avoided walking straight into his back. So what does he do, swings all his weight round into me, spilling a good third of my pint, a lot of it down my jeans. "oh sorry mate" he says, looking all cocky. so I say, "you can by me another one now.......mate" cos i mean not only did he spill my drink he soaked my trousers. "don't think so mate, accident, thats the way it goes". Then buggers off! I mean to me, if i did that to someone and it was my fault i'd at least try and make up for it by replacing their drink. Needless to say i followed him outside and started telling him again, but my girlfriend and dave's sister pulled me back inside incase i got chucked out for it. And i gave up cos i didn't want to ruin their night. But the sad thing is I probably would have been thrown out for standing up for myself. Had i been 16 and wearing a mini skirt, I'm sure he'd have bought me more than one replacement drink!! |

I miss the days of Kerosene and Coalesce at the union. Sadly it looks like the day of good alternative nights at Dundee union are over. All we'll get is the "alternative" equivilent of britney spears from now on. Of course, I'll probably get flamed for saying that, by the kind of people that don't think the likes of Evanescence are pop. The same kind of people that wouldn't even be listening to rock music, if they were the same age as me, but hey, unlike the murphys, I'm not bitter.

My argument was his downright twattish behaviour though man. I beleive that if you cause accidents like that you should have the decency to make up for it, if it was me who spilt my pint down me, or i was the guy who ruined your shirt. I'd do what was possible to make up for it. The shirt would have been mighty expensive though i expect!
I'm just one of these people who won't be walked over though. And thats what it felt like. Theres a lot of bouncers like that, and I can't stand it, and i felt in the postion to make my feelings known to him. So I did it y'know. I dunno if I really thought I'd win the argument, But i wasn't going down without a fight man. I don't think it would have gotten physical though, I'd never lay a hand on anyone unless I felt physically provoked myself. I do understand you though, sometimes you need to bite your tongue.
