MMR Jab

We got this e-mail at uni today:

Due to an increase in cases of mumps in young adults in the UK, NHS Lothian has recommended that students aged 17-25 years receive full immunisation against the disease.

The recommendations are that:

- Students who have been previously immunised (this will be most UK students aged 17-25) are advised to receive a single booster dose of the vaccine.

- Students who have not been previously immunised are advised to receive two doses of the vaccine, with an interval of 4-12 weeks in between.

Anyone else thinking of getting it? Any other uni's recommending it?

My friend at Glasgow Uni said there have been a few folk sent home with mumps already, but I haven't heard of anyone around here going down with it.

lol nah. no lolly for me
my friend said her arm went numb which is odd saying as the stupid nurse actually injected her with water rather than the mumps stuff
