Estimated bills!!
Students who live in their own accomodation beware! We just got our first bill through for our gas and it was an estimated one. Scottish Gas had estimated it at £106.78!!!! Deciding I wasn't going to pay that much for my heating (my flat is always cold...) I phoned them up with the actual reading and got a new bill reading...
£52!!!!!!!!! A difference of £54.78! The moral? Don't trust estimated bills EVER. I'm off to FOPP later to celebrate. Last edited by PrettyPumpkin : 9th November 2004 at 04:54 PM. Reason: i really can't do maths |

Yup def watch out for that! My last estimated elec bill was £158- when corrected was £60- actually watch out for every company they will try their best to rip you off. Tv liscence folk, banks, O2 (especially!) - that's why i always keep a note of names/numbers/times whenever I phone/speak to anyone!

O2... oh, they really wind me up.
For 6 months they never took into account for my free minutes but refused to fix it saying nothing was wrong, even the guys in the 02 shop realised it wasnt right and tried to tell the folk on the phone but they still wouldnt have any of it. |

Moved to orange who gave me £100.
£50 for my old phone and £50 for the sake of it. im paying £30 pm now and i get 1000 free texts, 200 mins, 4Mb of data transfer and insurance. Thats with the new Orange SPV smartphone which is the most amasing toy Ive ever owned. But this isnt about phone bills... its about estimated bills... i got my gas bill in, £40 and ive not had the heating on once. looks like its gonna be a cold winter! |

And we're not allowed to move gas company coz the landlady won't let us which is strange. I'll maybe have to talk to her again. |
