Anyone see the really brilliant episode of South PArk where Kyle decides to be a goth? The whole thing is a send up of goth kids...quotes like "if you want to be an individual you have to listen to the music we listen to,hang out with only us and dress just like we do" and "you can't be a nonconformist if you don't drink coffee".

Why do the Edinburgh "goths" all hang out in the middle of the sidewalk on Cockburn street? Isn't there a dark alley somehwere that would suit them better?

I thought goth did have roots in punk. Fair enough, it evolved in an entirely different direction, but I thought it was a distant relative of punk.

Back in the day me and my mates used to go out in my car (the heavy metal micra as it was known) and would stick some dualling banjo music on full blast and then find the biggest group of neds and shout "FUCKING MOSHERS" at them........
