Hey folks, I was just thinking about this at work this afternoon (yes I really was that bored) how many UGS-ers take some form of drug or another, this is kinda a follow up to the discussion about the Reading Rooms, coz so many people were talking about it there. Don't worry, it's an annonymous poll, for those that want to keep your drug taking a secret.

I query the bottom option, XxIndieCoreDavexX is straight edge and as far as I'm aware he drinks coffee.

Also, although I don't do/want to do cocaine I think it belongs in the second top option.

Edit: Also, speed is apparently much worse than ecstasy, or so I've heard.

i heard speed was just poor man's cocaine. In that it has the same effects only about 30times weaker. can you die from speed poisoning though? the death factor is a major negative for ecstasy.

What do you mean? Ecstasy-related deaths are surprisingly low. You'd have to take a fair few & be very irresponsible. Ie, allow yourself to become dehydrated... etc.

You can develop speed psychosis, which is pretty similar to schitzophrenia. Ecstasy doesn't make you die unless you cluelessly abuse it, much like alchohol or cars.

As far as I'm aware.

That's a lie. It has been known to kill people in the know and stuff.

example: Leah Betts - died on her 18th birthday (4th or 5th time using), had only taken one. her death certificate says "Ecstasy poisoning". and the blood tests and test of a sample of another tablet in the batch she bought showed it was pure ecstasy, not a bad tablet.

I don't know, to be honest. Maybe you can get MDMA poisoning. I don't intend on finding out.

The Leah Betts story
In November 1995 the British media went to town over the death of Leah, a girl whose stepfather was once in the drug squad and whose stepmother goes round schools warning children about the dangers of drugs. The parents cooperated with the media to produce powerful emotive anti Ecstasy images of their unconscious daughter dying behind them as they were interviewed, with the noble aim of getting the message across that Ecstasy is highly dangerous and can kill. This was followed up by billboards showing her in intensive care with the caption "Sorted. Just one Ecstasy tablet killed Leah Betts".

It was not for two weeks that the cause of death was given as due to drinking too much water, and then only at the bottom of page 5 of The Times. Although the official inquest confirmed this, it was revealed that she had also had several strong alcoholic drinks and had smoked cannabis along with the Ecstasy. Later it emerged that Leah had taken Ecstasy at least four times before, and that she and her friends had planned in advance to take Ecstasy at her birthday party. The media preferred to keep the message simple: Leah died from taking a single tab of Ecstasy. To say she died from drinking water is not a good story, and the fact that she was a regular Ecstasy user might lead to the suspicion that her death was due to a panic reaction brought on by her parents being in the next room with their intolerant attitudes.

Had she been drinking (a lot)? Perhaps she didn't look after herself properly (sipping water, eating salty foods).

Also, pure ecstasy? Isn't it very rare to find "pure" ecstasy?
