Celtic 0-2 Rangers
Best fans in the world, my fucking arse. First Dallas and now Ricksen. Celtic fans have shown they can't take defeat at all and now they should be forced to play their games behind closed doors to prevent injury to another player or match official. If Ricksen was inciting the crowd, then wtf was MON doing the last time? 'Showing support' for Neil Lennon? Was either Lennon or MON hit by a coin/lighter/whatever? No. It's not good enough and a total ban is the only way to show the hooligan element of the Celtic support that this behaviour is unacceptable and won't be tolerated.
Rant over. The game itself was most enjoyable. Bellamy, unsurprisingly given it was his debut, looked lost and out of his depth (although i'm sure he'll come good). Buffel had a cracking game and Waterrus hasn't put a foot wrong since he's come up here. I also thought Ferguson and Ricksen dominated the midfield and our central defensuve partnership was excellent, as Hartson didn't really get much to play with. After the first half, Rangers finally started to play the ball to feet- i was screaming at the TV when they were hitting long balls to Novo in the first half- and they proved what i've been saying for months; that Rangers are a better footballing team and quick passing and movement is the way to beat this Celtic team. We won every 50/50 in the 2nd half and ran out deserved winners. Rab Douglas is back on the Xmas card list, although Walter's defo off it if he considers playing him at the San Siro. All in all, a major scalp for us in the title race- obviously we've got the 3 points, but this will do us the world of good in confidence and must just dent Celtic's as we near the end of the season. Waterrus - This man deserves all the credit for rangers win as despite the good second half performance I reckon they would have been about four down had he not been outstanding.
