dissapearing voice...

Its GONE! My voice left half way through felt on thursday.

Its not one of these "losing your voice" things where you can actualy speak almost properly, but you dont because it hurts- its just gone! I thought it would get better in a couple of hours or over night but it still hasnt come back. i have no other symptoms except for my throat hurting a little bit, it was totally spontaneous and its starting to worry me...

what can i do to get it to come back?

sounds nasty! maybe throat sweets (really strong ones!)?

I'd go and see a doctor though, i imagine they'll be in the know about whats going on!

its making me all grumpy.

Go to the docs if it doesn't clear up.

I completely lost my voice last year (and I mean completely lost it, I could barely even talk in a whisper) and I blamed it on the alcohol and the two nights out I had in a row. My voice still wasn't back the following week so I eventually gave in and went to the doctors. Turned out I had had laringitis (sp?) and then went on to become a secondary throat infection.

Since then I have lost my voice completely again twice! Also prone to sore throats and a slight loss of voice after nights out now

yeah youve probably got laryngitis, there sometimes isnt many syptoms, people feel fine with it, apart from obviously the fact they cant talk, lasts a couple week too : (
shit i feel really sorry for you, it must be awful : (but hey you could always say youre doing a sponsor silence and make some cash from it!

my voice is a LITTLE better today but definitly not back, but since my voice is coming back everything else is getting worse

i coughed solidly between 4 and 6 this morning, so badly i couldnt even get up to get some water and the left hand side ( i dont know why the right hand sides getting away with it) is hurting so bad like its swollen and hurts when you swallow. ken?

I'm gonna go drink hot lemon and honey.

I was about to say lemon and honey, for just a throat it seems to do better than lemsip. But if its still hurting, particularly on one side, then it might have a light infection or something.

I lost my voice totally during a party a few months ago, but it came back very quick, I think i might have pulled something. Very scary.

apparently something like hot milk with honey and whisky is meant to help? hot toddy its called i think.
my gran made me have one once, was about 13, fucking pissed if not anything else : )

oooh, my dad has them at night, never tried it though- i'l get him to make me one, but his don't look very milky...:s only im trying to write essays, and im not sure whiskey and chaucer mix too well.....hmmm...
