A little story of my own... about this time a year ago I was between jobs, so I did the sensible thing and went to my local, friendly JobCentrePlus office to sign on. Not so much because I thought they could help me find a job, or that the money was really that important but I was due a big tax rebate and if you have any periods unnaccounted for it's harder to get. So I nip down the JCP in my faded jeans, baggy t-shirt (probably with a skull on it or some blood or something), leather jacket and dirty old trainers combo.... hair all messy - some hardcore stubble etc. The staff treated me like I was scum... giving me the usual "what have you done to find work?" speil and not believing that I actually wanted a job. Needless to say I got treated like shit every time I spoke to someone there and merely asking a staff-member a question qualified me for a dirty look.

Two weeks later...

I'm going into the JCP offices, clean shaven, hair all poofy, shirt, tie, trousers, shiny black shoes. I'm no longer signing on though - I'm about to start work there, processing benefit claims... but still - I get bombarded with dirty looks and sneers, not by the staff this time (they're all nice as pie now) - this time I'm getting muchos-evils from the customers...

Cunts... the lot of em.

Yes.. for all I know that 16 year old "goth" may only do what she does to fit in with a less common crowd but there is absolutely no need for her to be judged straight off like that. I hate black sheep as much as white sheep, but whether black or white, I wont label it as a sheep until I see it following the herd. AND.. I certsainly wouldn't ban one from a shopping centre.

I'll ban YOU from a shopping centre...

Here I am, sharing a joke with my mosher friend, James here. See I'm so PC. Look back in the records, you'll see we've shared many a joke in the past..

I even spoke to some black people the other day, and (furthermore) one of them had a walking stick!

really loving this quote

"I think they were right not to let her in as they probably thought she was one of them freaks who hang around outside the triangle on their skateboards. Even if she doesn't hang round outside there the way these so called goths dress could put some narrow minded people off shopping in the triangle. Personally, it wouldnt put me off but I do think dressing that way is pathetic especially for a young girl. I can not understand anyone who would want to dress like that, they are only embarrassing theirselves. "

stupid bitch. yeah cos everyone wants to look boho or like a gypsey and wear stupidly large belts with a skirt that can hold itself up just fine.

all the girl was doing was dressing like her friends, like many youngsters the length and breadth of britain and she is outcast. why not men who wear perfume or severly ugly people or men who wear pink shirts or people who buy von dutch clothes? those things offend me (sorry if your severly ugly and you take offence) so why not ban them?

edit - i'm not really offended, just making a point.

thats just one fashion trend. i'm not saying that they don't look silly wearing dog collars, the lady i quoted doesn't understand that this girl wears what she wears because her friends do, just like this woman (that i quoted) most probably wears exactly what is on the shelves of high street shops because that what her friends do.
