As far as I know the only place in Scotland to try this is a shopping centre in Inverness who caved in after a load of youths picketed the centre and complained to the manager.

I think it is a shame that the girl didn't get to go shopping, and it is totally discriminatory and unfair.

However, a lot of the time people crave reactions like this, so they can moan about how shunned they are, when they're not, they just make a really pointed attempt at not fitting in. I mean, alternative types before would have been misfits through having minority hobbies, taste, dress style and society would have thrown a group of goths together, but nowadays it's much more of a choice thing. A deliberate attempt to shun society and NOT be accepted for coolness sake. They have the moral highground now, it's like "I don't want to be part of society" rather than "Society doesn't want me so I'm in my own little group" and it's a lot more self-righteous and arsey than it was in the past.

I would bet a thread saying someone got banned from the Wellgate for wearing Burberry or something would get a rousing applause and a ton of wise-assed replies.

I don't dislike goths or moshers or whatever, I just hate the hypocrisy at times of wanting to be different and create some kind of reaction and then complaining when they do get a reaction. I think it's because some are a bunch of insecure people trying to latch onto something they don't wholly subscribe to or indeed believe in. These are usually people who are alternative because it's (un)fashionable or an anti-fashion or because it pisses off their middle-class parents. I hate the hypocrisy in their expectation of society to be kind to their minority group and not prejudge them and remain open minded, while it's fine for them to prejudge people who dress casually, branding them as "neds" and stuff.

I just hate hypocrits. And the raw deal that people who talk with a thick local accent and maybe don't wear wacky clothes get. I have met more nice people that others would perceive as "neds" than I have nice people who society would perceive as "moshers".

Anyway, I obviously do not agree with anyone getting banned from anyplace based on how they look.
