I've no idea about any of this i'm naive seeing as i've had no problems with dole/job-seekers etc. Because i'm lucky enough to have finished school, got the grades and managed to get into uni. I was just throwing ideas into the equation.

I don't like the idea of National Service. I don't see why people that have done nothing wrong should be forced into the army like that.

I'm not sure it would necessarily be a good idea to use it as a punishment, but it might be a good idea for certain kinds of crimes, to allow people to escape jail time, if they agree to sign up for the armed forces.

To be fair, I could probably get a job right now if I was willing to settle for anything, but I'm working on my portfolio so I can get the job I want, which would be the
job I've wanted to do ever since I left university 3 years ago. (and although the entry-level wage isn't really any higher than what I was earning in my last job, the wages I could potentially earn in future after I've gained some experience, are a lot higher)

If I took a shit job now, there's a chance I could get stuck in that shit job, because it's really hard to find the energy/concentration to work on your portfolio after a day at work. I got trapped in a shit job for a year for this reason, and I don't want it to happen again, because I'm so close to realising my ambition.

Besides which, I'm only about a week or two from finishing it anyway.

Is there a system for prosecuting young people (like younger than 16)? I'm totally oblivious to how it all works.

When I was 9, everyone knew what sex was. I think to actually want to have sex at that age though, the kid would probably have to be a bit fucked in the head.

Who knows, maybe the kid was abused himself?

TBH i think the problem often lies in the parents. Respect, manners and so forth has to be taught. IMHO most parents rely on school and TV to teach their children how to act. A stern but fair up bringing is what children need, and to have their parents really acknowledge them!

Off topic what i find amusing is parents moaning so much about computer games, tv etc when a lot of the time they dont personally offer an alternative.

IMO *most* the time you see a little brat, who often goes on to smash stuff up and become a real dosser, its poor up bringing. I know there are of course other factors like area and the social group they get into but i just think the parents are the once with ability and responsibility to teach their kids.

You couldnt be more right, i'm a addicted watcher of Super Nanny on tv (haha sad i know) and every single week its violent little screaming shits and its always the parents fault, every week without fail. Lack of attention and letting them away with everything, no discipline whatsoever
