No bright future for us?

I cannot see a bright future for Humans and this worries me. This morning I was on my way to work when I heard a group of primary school children swearing and cursing at the traffic. I don’t mean childish swearing, this was real abusive, adult stuff. Then about 10 minutes later, I was standing at my usual bus stop when a mother and her (what looked like) 12-13 year old son walked passed and she gave him a cigarette to smoke. When I got on the bus, it was full with School kids on their way to School and I overheard a few of them talking about how they were out drinking alcohol over the weekend. These kids were only about 11 years old.

If this is the way children are acting just now, imagine how it will be like in 30 years time. With the acceptation of sum, the youth of today seem to have lost all respect, and have no aims or goals in life.

400 years ago, villages and towns acted like a big family and everyone took care and looked after each other. 50 years ago, whole towns acted like one big friendly community where everyone seemed to be friends with everyone.

An excellent example of this was the queen’s coronation in 1953. People all over the country celebrated this memorable event together in houses and street parties. However, these days, it’s everyone for themselves (with the acceptation of a handful of friends) and the feeling of community has gone. The only events people seem to care about celebrating these days is ‘who won Big Brother’.

Also, due to our youths lack of respect, the amount of crime and unemployment have gone up. Is it now sociably acceptable to be like this, with no ambitions, no job and no prospects in life?

Maybe I’m getting to old before my time, Christ I’ll only be 23 in a couple of months but I am now feeling very worried to how people are turning out. In the near future, will it be acceptable for children to smoke and drink at an early age? Will it be normal to expect your house being broken into or to be mugged on the street?

Not only are we losing socially, we are also starting to de-evolve. In order to evolve, survival of the fittest needs to be a factor. These days, the amount of people needing glasses is rapidly increasing. This is because the faulty gene that causes bad eyesight has not been removed from the evolutionary pool. This is just one example of many, but again, this is caused by not having survival of the fittest in place.

Humans have now reached a point in time where our bodies no longer produce enough antibodies to fight illnesses because we are so dependant on medicines. We have become week, anti-social and ignorant.

If we want a bright future to survive peacefully, we need to stop concentrating so much on the welfare of other countries and think about issues closer to home.

yeah man, the world is a pretty crazy place these days. I was thinking this on the bus the other day. There were 8 young kids between 3 single parent mums. One who had three of the kids was threatning to beat them up if they didn't behave. One who had 3 was letting her kids run riot on the bus, who were being obnoxious, load and annoying other passengers who were minding there own business. The other mother had her two children under control (which proves that the not everyone in the world can't control their children!) Then there were "neds" up the back of the bus pumping out dance music as load as their boom box could have it, drinking buckie and again shouting at other passengers. These are just a few bad things that I noticed, but then again that was only about 25% of the bus, so at least not everyone is part of the dismal future..

What are you talking about man? Kids are great and nothing is wrong at all. Every time I open my front door all I see is happy smiles and sunshine handshakes. Everything is fine

Yeah I agree. The problem is that neds have kids, and don't give a shit about them or what they get up to, who then have kids that they don't give a shit about, and so on. I think people are getting less and less intelligent, probably due to the inbreeding in this city.

I wouldn't worry about our genetics though. I think genetic engineering will cure defects like people being short sighted within the next two centuries at least (although probably a hell of a lot earlier than that). I imagine there will still be some people that refuse to have their children genetically engineered though.

To be fair though, a lot of intelligent people wear glasses, like scienticians and all that like. If we killed them all off then there'd be less sciences and fings and I would be sad.

Yeah, I was thinking about that film, but I was thinking more of the enviromentalist types, straight edgers and all that. I can't imagine those types being very much up for genetic engineering.

I know not everyone is like this, but I have seen this trend growing bigger over the years.

A prime example is the amount of homeless people and beggars on the streets.

When I was a kid there were next to none of them, when I moved to the city centre there were only a couple, now I can t go 5 minutes without someone asking me for money. Its even go to the stage where they actually approach you and beg.

Yeah, I dunno if it was just because I was a child and didn't notice before, but I never saw any homeless people in Dundee as a child, in Edinburgh yes, but not in Dundee.

I didn't see a homeless person in Dundee until I was 12. Now they're everywhere.

Then there's that ginger woman that goes about the Tesco riverside carpark with her kids, asking for money. I don't give her any because she is ginger, and ginger-genetics, or gingernetics as the scienticians call it, should not be passed on to future generations.

its been that way for years. it`d be un-natural for kids to not rebel against everything they are told not to. i was a wee bastard growing up, right till my late teens, and so were a lot of my friends. pretty much all of us have turned out fine, in the fact that we are all mature enough to know when to cut the shit and get down to real life issues like workin to pay your bills.
most kids will realise this, with help from their parents and peers. some of course wont, and that cant be helped really, but thats just the way it is. none of em can say they havent had the chance to make things better and do something with life. we all have the chance, just up to the individual to decide if thats what they want.
