"The Mekong giant catfish (Pangasianodon gigas) species is listed as critically endangered by the World Conservation Union (IUCN), which means it faces a high risk of extinction in the wild."

i love the way that humans find something like this and kill it.

"Despite efforts to keep the Mekong giant catfish alive, it died and was later eaten by villagers."

yeah i'm sure:

"a team of fishermen struggled for more than an hour to haul the creature in."

"Mekong giant catfish attract high prices in Thailand, because eating the fish is supposed to bring good luck."

not all of it surely. it'd make an awsome costume.

actually reading the article is pretty interesting. they actually took the eggs from it for a captive breeding programme since the species is critically endangered but it didnt survive the process... then they chopped it up and ate it.
