gas pressure
lol, our area has had their gas switched off because of a problem with the gas pressure.
my mum always likes a good oppurtunity to whinge adn she is saying "blah blah they're not allowed to switch it off for that long blah blah". stupid woman wants blown up obviously. she even said it to my dad who has worked for british gas for 37 years. i'm hungry though. i woke up at half 8 when they switched it off and i'd been asleep since 5. bugger. |

i can cope without hot water for a couple of days, and i have a microwave and a toastie maker. but my mum apparently needs a hot bath every night or she might die. grr. she was whinging this morning because she says she wants compensation and put up in a hotel for any further nights its off. ha!
completely out of water would be harsh though. all the bottled stuff would get bought up fast too! |

Dear Householder,
Loss of Gas Supply -- Claddens Area, Lenzie Gas supplies in your area have been affected today to 480 properties. As a result, you may have noticed a drop in your gass pressure or your supply may have been interrupted. This is because water has entered the gas system. Engineers working for Scotland Gas Networks are now working to remove the water as quickly as possible. However, we must ensure all the water has been removed from the mains system before we can begin to restore gas supplies to individual properties. Until then, for safety reasons, we have to turn off your gas supply at the meter. Once all the water has been removed and it is safe to reconnect your supply, engineers will call at your home to carry out further checks. At this time, it is difficult for us to estimate how long this work will take. Unfortunately, at present, we anticipate the gas not being restored before 7pm this evening, however we will keep you informed of the progress and I would like to thank you for your patience. It is very important that you do not try to use gas while my engineers are dealing with this emergency. If you are elderly, disabled, chronically sick or have young children or other special needs, we have portable electric appliances available on site for cooking and heating. These can be obtained by calling 0141 418 4211 or contacting our staff on site. Finally, for security reasons, you should always ask to see the identification card of anyone calling at your home. All our engineers carry a laminated identity card bearing the name of Scotland Gas Networks. If you are in any doubt, please seek assistance from a neighbour or relative, or telephone 0800 0155170. If you know of any neighbours who may require special help, please let us know as soon as possible. We sincerely regret the inconvenience this may have caused you or your family, and I would like to reassure you that we are working hard to resolve the problem. Yours faithfully John Lobban Director of Operations. my sister typed that in earlier, when i was at work, bless her. no showers for me! anyway, what are you saying, you skank! ![]() |
