James Blunt Banned!

Essex FM has banned James Blunt from being played on their radio station cos its finally starting to do everyone elses tits in- not just those fortunate few with taste who have had gripes with the song since its release. Hopefully he'll be banned from other stations soon too, so i don't need to listen to his whiney voice on Magic FM in the shower and then the ban can make its way north of the border soon as well

Just had to endure Virgin radio at the work the other day. If they had to rejig their playlist to get rid of over played songs they'd have some major work to do. Now that everyone is "officially" tired of James Scunthorpe (think about it ) can we now ban David Gray, Robbie Williams, last two albums Chilli Peppers, and that rotten Sham 69 football cover?

Which leads us nicely into a "what radio station to you hate/like" discussion? Hate Virgin with a firey passion (no imagination with their playlist, same songs utterly flogged to death and it's overly corporate), Wave 102 is funny because it's wall to wall cheese, Ditto Tay AM, Tay FM wants to be Radio 1. Radio 1 is okay-ish. Prefer Radio 2 these days. This is for daytime, at work listening. Don't listen to it at home.

i tend to listen to radio 2 much more than any other station. try and listen to radio 3 for the jazz shows sometimes, and radio 4 for the comedy shows. my sister listens to radio 1 so the radio is normally tuned into that, it's weird how they play the exact same songs at just about the exact same time every day.

Thank u guys and gals for ruining my life, it took 2 years of hard werk to erase that james blunt arse from my memory and another year to figure out safe places to go and channels to watch so as not to encounter him and i come here thinking its safe and bam blunt time!.

now i am gonna have to go to kj and get some compensation to start over again........

thats fucked up, the reason it gets fucking played is because people want to hear it..otherwise why the fuck would they play it?

i hate when radios do this sorta thing and if anything it's great publicity for him

I like Radio 2 I mostly listen to it in the Morning and at nights when I'm driving. there's nearly always an interesting interview and usually a decent mix of songs, especially at night.

I also like Planet Rock on a Saturday morning as I like cheesy rock in the morning.

Radio 4 Also has some good interviews and programmes on a huge variety of subjects. Unfortuneatly I don't get the time to listen to them as much as I would like.

Other than that i don't listen to any other radio station, that's what a CD collection and an IPod is for.

I don't understand all the hatred for James Blunt personally. Shiona played his album to me a couple of times one night, and it sounded pretty cool to me. Nice and chilled out.

I don't listen to the radio though, so I don't get subjected to it.

I only ever sometimes MEAN to listen to the radio.usually 'The Lock Up' on tuesdays on radio1.
the radio is on at work all the time. i do have a liking for 'Boogie and Jill' on Forth One in the mornings.

apart from that.radio suuucks.

I never listen to the radio of my own choice but in the last week or so I've been moving all my stuff to my new flat and my girlfriend listens to the radio in the car. Usually radio1, sometimes forth1. I don't mind the music all that much but that's probably cos I can go home and listen to my own music collection afterwards. but the last 3 times we've driven the 2min drive back to the old flat, Orson have been on radio1. it's strange. Also, there's about 10different songs that are on almost every time i'm listening for any reasonable amount of time with others in between, they're not bad songs though

I thought a function of a radio station was to highlight music that the public like? So if the public like him, why not play him?

It's petty and attention seeking basically by essex fm.

My opinion is that James Blunt isn't too bad, some decent songs but I don't listen to a lot of his songs.

Im sure its getting Essex FM a lot of attention, but on BBC London they did some Vox Pops and the majority of the people asked said that they were sick of the song getting played all the time as well, so i guess in a way its what the people want? Also, according to the heads of Essex FM they were getting requests to not play the song as well.
On a side note, Blunt has said something along the lines of the song helping in getting him laid countless of times strange how people only know about TPT though...
