No Order,
Alibis and Ammunition:Trashlight Vision Song by Song: Stiff Little Fingers Here comes the brides: Brides of Destruction. My reason for these albums are that these are the first three albums that spring to mind, which i wouldnt skip a single song on when i listen to them. There uplifting albums and all three of them set me up for the day when listened to first thing in the morning. |

I always find it hard to nail it down to a list, but here goes.
1. Devin Townsend - Terria Some will disagree, but I think this is an amazing album. Really chilled out music, but with a slight aggressive edge to it in places. The album has an amazing layered sound to it, especially the multiple vocal tracks on most songs. Another thing I like about the album, is that even the songs with depressing lyrics have a strange uplifting quality to them. One of the few albums that's guaranteed to make me feel better if I'm feeling down. Here's a sample http://www.hevydevy.com/audio/mp3/dt_canada.mp3 2. Delerium - Karma Really nice album to relax/sleep to. Reminds me a lot of moving into my first flat on a sunny summer day, as I was listening to it a lot at the time. 3. At the gates - Slaughter of the soul. One of the best metal albums of the 90s. I still remember hearing Blinded by Fear on headbangers ball, and just immediately thinking it was amazing. Such a shame that personal tragedy stalled their career pretty much indefintely. Have to give some thought to my top three. |

Man that is so hard.
At The Drive In - Relationship of Command I bought this album off the strength of two songs; Pattern Against User and One Armed Scissor. They are now one of my favourite bands. This album is the best on all levels; energy, emotion, production etc. I can still listen to it from start to finish and love each and every song. This album marks when my music tastes changed from popular in Kerrang to whatever I actually liked! Cryptopsy - Whisper Supremacy This is one of my favourite death metal albums and the first proper death metal cd I bought (Demanufacture by Fear Factory deserves an honorable mention here). I lost it one night back in the days when I had a personal cd player which went everywhere with me along woth 3 cd's (just incase I change my mind halfway to my destination!). I donwloaded it guilt free and it's still a staple. This also changed my views on what was humanely possible in music. The drumming in particular sounds inhumane at some points and the jazzy death metal style of Flo Mounier took me by surprise to say the least! It still throws me off trying to play along! Dizzee Rascal - Boy In Da Corner Some people might wonder why this is in my top three but it is an amazing album. Again, this one changed my opinions on music. I only ever liked american rap but even though this is classed as grime it still opened my eyes to what is out there. On top oif that, his lyrics and the stories he tell are amazing and despite his reality being completely different to my reality, he still managed to tell stories that I can relate to and some songs on this album actually helped me get through some tough times when I was stressed and in a depressive state, so this is in my top three because of the combination of killer tunes and also the personal connection I have with the album. |

Dropkick Murphys - Do Or Die (first album i ever truly "loved" mike mccolgan is amazing and the songs are so straight forward and to the point, also its the least "folk" of DKM's albums)
Green Day - Dookie (first album i ever bought, from woolies, for 8 quid) i'll have to think about the 3rd for a while... |
