Probably not as effective as prescription ones, but there are some good herbal products. It would be a good idea to try them out beforehand though to see if they're suitable.

I had to ask a stewardess if i could move seat across the aisle once. The woman next to me was so hideously plastered in the 3 hour flight it was impressive. She was so terrified of flying and i had nothing comforting to say to her!
Nytol works pretty well for me, but Glasgow > Calgary is a fairly hefty flight, i don't think it'd knock you out long enough, really. |

Flying is ace! Though I've discovered the larger the plane the more boring the flight.

unless you get little TVs on the back of your chair with several movie channels and a Super NES....ah memories...Virgin Air 10 hour trip to Boston, great fun. I loath take offs and landings, have no fear of being miles high up in the air but i hate watching the ground rush up on landings...(said TVs with an under-plane camera channel...bad crazyness) |

i get a genuine rush from thinking about all the things that can go wrong with the plane. while in on the plane that is, not right now.
pop some vallys before going on the plane, you'd be so relaxed that falling asleep would be the easiest thing to do .personally apart from the fact i love flying and get too excited i could never sleep in public while sober, the thought of waking up with a massive stiffy while 2 strangers are trying everything not to look to the left (again) keeps me wide awake. |
