What's the strongest you can buy over the counter (or on Ebay maybe) ?

I'm going to Canada in a couple of weeks and want to kip most of the flight

Second Nytol.
Although I was once recommended Piriton as it knocks you out but doesn't leave you feeling too groggy in the morning. It gives you some quite odd dreams though.

If you're having trouble sleeping, why not go to the doctor?
If they do prescribe something, it's only going to be £5, so probably cheaper.

Plus they'll know what's best for you.

Doctors can prescribe for that too.

But it did sound like he wanted some pretty serious stuff. Best to get the docs advice anyway since it's free.

We're flying with Zoom, so it's pretty basic and kinda cramped.

We flew with them last year and they have a one man/one drink rule, so I couldn't get a couple of tins at the same time as they wouldn't give me them - and they made me bring back my empties before I could get another one...

I don't have any problems sleeping at home, I'm just looking to be zonked from Glasgow - Calgary so that I'm still awake by the time we get to Banff in the evening local time

Seconded, my mum gets stuff prescribed from our doctors when we go on long haul flights to America or the far east/australia that knocks her right out.
