If you challenge someone with ALS to a race and win have you done anything noteworthy? Or delivered a sockdolager of any kind? Even if they "want to be treated the same way"?
I'm no fan of Heston's views, but an intelligent, articulate, healthy man such as Moore making the centrepiece and denouement of his documentary a "debate" with a man suffering from an intellectually crippling neurodegenerative disease, then walking away all smug as if he's somehow proved a point is somewhat disingenuous.

I completely disagree. If an organisation as large as the NRA sees fit for a man with Alzheimer's to run the organisation then surely that challenges your point of view? You also forget that, as with many illnesses, not everyone suffers the effects identically.

I'm trying to say Moore was a cock for going after an incredibly easy target and using it smugly and disingenuously as the finishing-move of his movie.

so when asked directly about the little girl who was shot, he was able to "use his illness" yet when Moore asks him about keeping guns in his house he can talk freely and openly?

whether your ill or not, you can at least show remorse.

plus he wasnt exactly on his deathbed when he pushed the gun rally right after the shootings was he?

Heston was a dick. I'm not defending Heston at all. You're both looking at my points from completely the wrong angle.
Heston's dickheadedness is peripheral to my point, which is about Moore, not Heston. Moore came across as a complete cock by making that scene the punchline of his facile documentary.
I agree with Moore's politics, in the broad sense, but he's a hack. His books and documentaries simplify issues stupidly, he picks on easy targets, uses straw men left, right and centre, makes appeals to emotions rather than reason. I mean, they're watchable in a popcorn, mindless movie kinda way (he has a knack for entertaining setpieces, for example). But he's a fucking arse.

if you relating to Michael Moore, then yes, his documentaries are built around his perspective on things, he doesn't display both sides of the argument in a fair light but some of the points he brings up are very valid.

Marilyn Manson was the only person to come out of BFC with any real credibility.

No matter who asked the questions, Heston regardless of his condition, was completely out of line, which was the point mentioned above. Unless you mean if someone else had asked him the questions he'd have given different answers?
