Nobody is going up to religious people and ramming their views down their throats for LULZ.
The creationists (I'm generalising for simplicity here) have just made a big fuck off documentary, which will achieve Michael Moore-esque exposure, aimed at getting creationism taught in science classrooms.
I think we have every right to respond. It's a response, not an unprovoked attack.

I worked in a business where 70% of the staff were Muslim and whenever religion came up in conversation, and that conversation turned to creation, I never flinched from explaining the scientific view of it. Why would it matter whether someone was Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Mormon, Hindu....whatever? Some things ARE black and white, some ARE clearly wrong, and the religious view of how we came about is ENTIRELY wrong. It absolutely applies to every single religion.

I love your double standard though, you have a go at me for (an imagined) attack on 'a muslim', yet freely admit to giving other religious believers a mouthful!

Believing something that is provably wrong is dangerous, because the intolerance and bigotry that follows on from those beliefs (not to mention the increasing global violence) poisons the world we live in.

first paragraph - it doesn't matter if its right or wrong its a religion. belief goes further that scientific fact.

second paragraph - the whole mouthful part was about religious followers coming to my door every second Sunday at exactly 1:30pm to try convince me to join the morman church or whatever. was not meant to be taken seriously, i basically tell them to fuck off in ammusing ways.

third paragraph - all the scientific facts in the world aint gonna change that sad fact.

If only it were that simple!! Most religions pretty much COMMAND their followers to ram their beliefs down everyone's throats....in fact, a lot of them say you'll go to hell if you DON'T preach the word!

So you see, the people who are standing up to the religious are actually holding back their avalanche of bullshit from overwhelming the rest of society.
