Confirmed. They need a buyer in ten days or it's all done. All accounts stopped. 12 stores shut immediately, administrators in. Fuck.

I work in the Dundee shop, but i'm off this week so I missed all the fun. yesterday our shop was on the list of ones to close, but they changed their minds, so it's still open, although good lad Steve-O, who joined us last, lost his job.
There was chat of this months ago, it seems shitty that they didn't tell people in advance, especially at the stores which were closed immediately. Apparently staff in those stores were told to leave and the locks were changed.

Gees a job someone.

We'd pretty much stopped dealing with Rosetti anyway, cos' Gibson are starting to distribute themselves. What's the Roland position? Thought they'd still do okay without us.

Roland's only direct sales arm was through SC. Other than that, they only do distribution. Roland employees have been told not to sell anymore Roland stock in SC stores, and to sticker them so that the goods are not included in the administrator's stock check. Roland will then perform their own "terminal stockcheck".

Apparently Roland had been saying since last year at least that they were not on good terms with SC, and my mate was not the only one who jumped ship after seeing the writing on the wall.

PR Howard must be facing a struggle though, because I know how much certain Edinburgh retaillers owe them, never mind SC.

It's been coming though. I hope the administrators deal with the staff better than simply saying "you've got ten days to find a new job".

I've never really liked Sound Control but its sad to see it go. Gonna have a check of the one in Glasgow West End to see whats going on.

I'm going to have to be the voice of desent here.

Sound Control has ALWAYS had a really shoddy attitude to customers, their 'Customer Service' department is laughably inept, and I'm not sorry to see them go.

I swore I'd never buy anything from them ever again, after they completely fucked up the last order I made with them and then took about 3 weeks to fix their mistake, before proceeding to try and charge me for the courier THEY'D sent out to collect a CD sized package.

It seems to me that serious mis-management and a rather lax attitude towards spending money has led to this happening.
