Badscience.net have already torn this story a new one.

It's entirely possible for a finger that has been injured in this way to grow back and, indeed, it happens all the time. The story about "pixie dust" is utter nonsense, and the guys at badscience seem baffled why it'd even being reported at all.

What is interesting is that almost every single news source in the UK has carried this story without stopping for a second to do some basic fact checking.

My favourite part is the fact that the guy only appears to have lost a tiny part of the tip of his finger....if he's lost any at all (it's a bad cut as far as I can see). The lab developing whatever it is are trying to distance themselves from the whole media bullshit fest.
