Is that at Dundee Uni, what tutor is that?

I, personally, wouldn't find either of KJ's examples sexist. Like other people have pointed out, it's just good manners, isnt it? I could, however, maybe see why some women might get arsey about them but I think it's just picking at stuff for the sake of picking.

There's no such thing as inverted sexism.

Aye, sexism, like racism, is sexism regardless of which direction it's going in.

men do on average earn more money than women. What really skews the figures is that the majority of high paid jobs are held by men and the vast majority of low paid jobs by women. It is less common now for men and women to be paid differently for the same job, although some councils have been getting away with it for the almost 40 years it has been illegal. For example BBC NEWS | England | Tees | Council workers win equal pay battle

Oh aye, I wasn't doubting that. I was just curious what history tutor it was since I'm familar with all the tutors at Dundee Uni, that's all.

was trying to think of a term for describing this -

I'd never thought about. For example she was saying she'd be offended if a man held open a door for her because she wouldn't hold it open for a man because both are more than capable of opening the door themselves. And letting women get on and off the bus before me could be seen as being sexist. Do women really find this offensive?

so that is clearly not it. awesome
