Last Night + Edinburgh

last night we played a pretty decent show at DR.Drakes in good ole Aberdeen, after playing i got hauled into the mens room by a dreadlocked young chap who turned out to be Robbie from THE EXPLOITED! saying how he thot we were ace and "had balls!", he explained how he`s got another band on the go just now and would very much like to do some shows with us opening for them! fuckin ace. so now, this Saturday in Edinburgh we are all going through to be in their new MUSIC VIDEO! with STRIPPERS! and then play what has promised to be a mental show later that night. its gonna be fuckin ace. so cheers to Robbie for checkin us out last night and being really c00l with us, we are all very excited for this week, Cathouse on Thursday and now this on Sat!

man, that was possibly one of the greatest days of my existence. unbelievable: in short, this happened -
- got to the flat where they shot the music video for Certain Death`s song. set up a drumkit and 2 stacks in the boys living room!! (baring in mind there are people living on all sides of these walls!) , crammed as many people in to the room as possible, plugged everything in, made most noise heard in a living room EVER!, everyone going mental, Ting doing a stage dive off a fridge!, strippers, sorry, dancers, rubbing boobies up and down the drummers head while kissing each other! just your basic general absolute mayhem. me and grossi picked up healthy injuries too, lol. i cannot wait to see the finished product, OH! nearly forgot, Gain dressed up as a quasi beastman/skeletor creation, to the joy of everyone else, haha. and prop`s must go out to Certain Deaths mate GINO, who was basically, a fucking psycho! haha, he smashed his head of the guys bass while headbanging, spliting his head wide open, spilling blood all over his white wife beater! amazing guy. should`ve seen the state of him by the end of the day. what a trooper

- after that we all pitched up to the strip bar where the dancers worked as they promised to let us all in for a pound! which they did! and i tell ya, it was the greatest pound i`ve spent in a long long time. if you`r in the area, pop in to the Western Bar and ask for Mercedes, man, it was good

- then, the GIG!, place was really c00l, little dungeon bar. pretty busy with like minded folks, always good to see. plus, NO POSERS! ace. US Vs. THEM went on 1st and were really fucking good, like grossi said, not often do u see a riff based hardcore band anymore, but they were and they were damm good. spoke to em after, gave em cd`s. will hopefully gig again soon.
we went on and played a pretty tight typically fast set, which seemed to go down pretty well. as soon as we came offstage a girl (whose name i`ve clean forgot) introduced herself, saying she works at Studio 24 and how she really liked us, asking for a CD, mentioning that she`d very much like to consider us for a support slot with CAPDOWN! when they play there. she said there are other slot`s we can get if we cant get on that one, but i really hope we can coz it looks like Misled Youth are maybe on that one to so it could be a great day, we could get a bus load of folk through for it. she`s gonna be in touch soon, so fingers crossed!
Certain Death were cleary the band most of the punter`s were there to see. and everyone went completely mental, turning the dance floor into a muddy swimming pool with bodies flying in every direction you looked, it was complete mayhem. Gino added to his injuries by introducing his nose to the concrete, OUCH! i heard the crack, even over the music. it was jus nuts. the kind of show we need to be playing more often. with ppl who are there for the music and not just to fit in. it was a brilliant, brilliant day

Lads, tomorrow we're gonna get the dates with A CLOSE LAST finalised for August.

It looks like we'll be playing non-stop from the 2nd - 9th August in England

Once we get the dates sorted , I'll phone Adrian mid-week for a blether.

Once it's all sorted, I'll email those promoters Ive been speaking to and the couple of A&R folk who are interested, telling them what dives we'll be playing at.
