I'd like to point out that the Scottish Football League or SFL for short is not at all predictable. Last year Most people were tipping St Johnstone to win and for St Mirren and Ayr Utd to be strong challengers as well. This however was not the case with Falkirk rocketing to the top of the league and the Saints floundering with about as much momentum as an A-Train push.
This year with Falkirk, having lost most of their players to Utd along with their inspirational manager, dont have much of a chance in my opinion even though they can never be completely written off as title contenders. Look for last years runner's up Clyde and St Johnstone to fight it out for the only promotion place to the top flight. (Its sad that SPL clubs try to cover their back in this way by being about the only league in Europe to operate on a 1 up and 1 down policy. Occasionalyy as seen this season it can turn into a none up and none down situation, completely killing off competition for the sake of a few thousand seats that the Bairns wouldn't have filled anyway) So other possible challengers? Inverness have always had a strong team and as displayed against European Finalists Celtic can beat just about anyone on their day. . And St Mirren and Ayr are clubs that are too big to be fighting it out in midtable. Im certainly looking forward to a very open and unpredictable SFL season |

I do agree though that the Edinburgh teams should sell up and build a new Stadium, same with the Dundee teams. In the case of the Dundee teams especially the Stadiums arent exactly in good condition and sharing one ground would certainly save a lot of money which would help reduce some of the debts or even god forbid be spent on youth development

I don't think that the SPL is predictable.
I bet Rangers or Celtic wins the league though The only exciting thing about Scottish Priemer football these days is the Relegation battle, which is actually a load of ballocks, and the fight to see who'l be 3rd place. |

The argument that Celtic and Rangers should move to england may make or break these 2 clubs and also maybe at the start give the other teams a fair crack but in my opinion it'll happen to the smae two teams.
You have staunch fans that will go down every second week to see their club play in england. But the others wont follow and after a while they'll just wanna see a game of football. Im not saying they will reform and start supporting an other team but i think there will be a loss of some kind. Also ground sharing sounds great from a financial point of view, but seriously how can you expect 2 teams, 2 rivals to ground share. Dundee and Uniteds grounds have been their for years and are a focal point of the city take that away and all you get is another stadium this wouldnt boost the city at all. I mean they are in the guinness book of records for christ sake. Predictable perhaps in the old firm sense but surely after 10/12 years you should be used to it by now. I am a football player and have been for more than a decade and football as been polluted by the press and by MONEY. Celtic and Rangers regardless of how much debt they are in the still have more money and thats how it'll go untill they bring in a maximum fee rule (which i doubt). The SPL and all other football leagues are now ran as buisnesses and they will being doing this for years to come thats why i dont go and watch it and continue to play it. And to show how bad it is at amateur level the same kinda shit goes on incredible. Now that ive ranted i hope someone else shares my view. |
