my 360 is a bitch

after the good part of a year with no problems, my 360 is being a biiatch again...
when i put in a game it goes onto a white screen and says...
"to play this disc, please insert it into an xbox 360 console"
WTF !!!
ive used a lazer cleaning dvd and hoovered it with a mini hoover to suck up some dust or somthing but its not working....
its well ventilated and i dont get it !!
anyone else had this problem ??

YES!!!! that happened to me, the game would work between 1 - 150 times (no joke) DVDs work perfect everytime but games goto that fucking screen, almost as if it were acting lik a DVD player

Is it 360 games or the first Xbox games that are not working, or is this problem with all xbox and xbox 360 games? I thought it might be something with your software emulator that gets installed onto your 360 when you play and old xbox game.

If you blow while hard while your closing the disct tray and you have this problem it works 8 times out of 10. No joke.

fuck sake man id never heard about anyone else with this specific problem, at least im not alone lol, and kj, normal xbox games work but 360 games are being a cunt, mabye that backwards compatibility update made my 360 think its an xbox :S

hmm... i just tried to turn it on withou the hard drive in to see if it would work an it didnt, so i dont think its that BC update theory...

edit - but now it just worked after re-inserting the hard drive !!!!!
what the fuck i hate microsoft, the console with the best games atm is a big ridden pile o pish

360 is ment to be riddled with problems..
Jon, my suggestion to ya is this..

before the HDD flunks on ya...move all your content, saves and gamer profile over to a memory card. pick one up if ya dont have one. i bought one before i bought my drive as i have a core system. got the important shit saved on it.

cos it sounds like your box could be on it's way out.

they are ment to be prone to fucking up something awful likes.

unfortunitly, when it comes to the 360, thats about as reassuring as it gets.
i've been reading the forums and everybodys experiences are mostly bleak.
I wouldnt suggest the towel trick to ya unless your getting 3 red lights. at that point..get ready to dig out yer receipt.

Im just waiting on mines going, seemingly all 360's made before a certain date will fizz out within days to a year, year and a half tops. Funnily enough, my manufactures date has been filed away at.
