Think my xbox is dying....

I was winning at pro evo and i got this horrible crackle, the screen froze and went all grainy. Rebooted - screen froze on the xbox logo and did the same, rebooted, got connected again to a game, and it happened again!

Raging, my ranking has gone right down now cos of the disconnects!

oh no, not the ranking...

i had a similar problem playing gears online... basically it would be fine when i was in the lobby waiting for the match to start, but as soon as the host stated the game, the xbox would make disturbing, uh, groaning sounds before it would freeze and an error message would appear and i'd get disconnected (can't remember what the message said). i can play offline ok.

however it was just that one game (my copys pretty scratched). have you tried playing online with other games?

Mine did that with Star Wars Lego II then I got the RED LIGHTS OF DOOOOOOM

I had three lights of doom last night, but the machine restarted again fine so don't know what that was all about. I was playing Viva Pinata at the time... mind you it was a 7 hour sesh.

my xbox died the other day, after gettin 3 red lights every so often and it being ok on restart it finally just gave up. cant get passed 3 lights atol. sad panda.

I've only had my console for a few months, you'd think they'd have got it right by now but obviously not. I wonder if the Xbox 360 elite will have the same problems.

yup, the elite seemingly has the same guts as your standard 360 and readin the offical forums, it seems that the problem is still occuring.
I'll be dissapointed my mines finally bows out but no to fussed, starting to loose intrest in it. The games are all run of the mill to me...there are exeptions but the majority are just boring me.

Gaming is needing more innovative games, curious about Wii and ps3 tho. Not seen any of the two in action so i might have to pick up one of the two if my box go's boom.

Most publishers won't fund more innovative games, because they're more risky, and when millions of pounds are at risk, it's much easier just to release a sequel, or other safe bet like an FPS or sports game.
