New GTAIV Trailer
new trailer is available. Don't know how long I can wait for this game. Looks bloody marvelous.
If the game play is anything like those cut scenes then it's going to be great. Don't think anyone can doubt that. I was more interested in the car dynamics to be honest. Also the gun battles and camera effects look sweet. The trailer is a free download on XBLM too.

Looks amazing. I guess I'll just have to start playing Saints Row again to tide me over until it comes out.
I wonder if they've done anything new in light of Saint's Row's customisation features and Crackdown's online play. Last edited by humndislocation : 9th December 2007 at 01:24 PM. |

Is there any online abilities confirmed yet? I've heard rumours about something but no solid confirmation yet.

Looks like the Sims finally got a Crime Expansion. :P
Looks good. I haven't enjoyed the more recent GTA games as they felt way too silly and over the top. This looks like it harks back to GTA3's darker, grittier stylings. There was a distinct lack of Hare Krishnas in the trailer though... |

Haha. Good point. I'm sure there will be someone to replace them. The city actually looks like a real, living and breathing city.

sorry but a pal of mine tested this all summer at rockstar, says its absolute gash..
apparently they've not made much effort to improve alot since the last one. & the trailers look way better than the actual game is. i constantly tell him to shut his puss, they'd surely have improved it since then and wouldn't just release a load of tripe. but nit, he's adamant. |

Shame.
I've often thought that the GTA engine needs a total overhaul rather than a reiteration of the last version. It's even more important now that they have competition in the cityscape type game genre. |

Depends how fundamental the problems are to the game, what needs to be done to fix them, and how much time it would take to fix them.
One thing to take note of though, is that games can improve by a massive amount in the last few six, or even three months of development. |

Another thing to note, is that even the best game will be absolute gash 1 year before release. Loads of features will be placeholder, missing animations that haven't been created yet, etc ,etc.
It can be very difficult to judge the quality of a game until it gets close to completion. |
